XXL SHEDS® was able to design a highly functional workshop that ticked all the boxes for the owners whilst working with a very difficult shaped block. XXL SHEDS® delivers another great building.

Location: Acacia Ridge, Brisbane Queensland

Roof Shape: Gable Roof

Clear Span: 33m

Portal Frame Type: Hot Rolled Portal Frame Design

Total Footprint: 1000

Building Details:
A gable roof workshop 33m wide at one end, tapered along one side to 24m wide to accommodate the land shape with a 6.8m eave height. The building is 32m long. The Design includes a mezzanine floor area with office, lunchroom, bathroom and toilets whilst incorporating parking area under. An overhead gantry crane to assist materials handling and multiple 5m x 5m Roller Doors provides fantastic access to both sides of the building with a large cantilevered 6m awning at the front so it provides more covered storage area. The large parapet front wall ensures great street appeal whilst matching the existing adjacent building on the block run by the same owners.

Working with XXL Constructions, the principal builder for this project XXL SHEDS® assisted by designing a workshop for a well known and successful engineering business on the southside of Brisbane. Due to the ongoing growth of the engineering business they needed to expand to capture further business opportunities so they were able to secure the land adjacent to their current business. They approached XXL SHEDS® to assist in the design with a list of requirement that had to fit on the block and meet all the authorities and building code requirements. The end result working with XXL Constructions was a modern, affordable, robust facility that enabled the business to expand and become more efficient with material and product movement whilst adding significant value for the owners.
